She said, “I spent my life folded between the pages of books. Having a bad past and terrible family life, Juliette grew up as an introvert and very suspicious of people. Juliette isn't very good at communicating her feeling toward people, possibly because she doesn't have much experience with human relationships. But inside, Juliette is really a shy girl who has a realistic and developing personality. She has the power to take energy out of any living thing with just her touch, so many people are afraid of her and know her as a monster. Juliette is the main protagonist of the story, because of the fact that her touch is lethal. Juliette is said to be hauntingly beautiful, but she does not know so, as she hadn't looked into a mirror in 3 years. She is a 17-year-old girl with long, brown hair that falls to her waist, bright blue-green eyes, and pale skin. Am I glad I read it? Yes.Juliette is the main character and narrater of Shatter Me. For sure it’s a solid and enjoyable read and one I would spend time with, would I re-read this novel? No.

The author Tahereh Mafi was not afraid to test boundaries with this book, however by the end to me it’s quite apparent she is setting up for a series and given this was the debut novel could have been done better.
